Note: The functionality only applies to appliances and the virtual OS and requires Sentry v9.6.x or later. To access this functionality, go to the System->Settings->Preferences. Modifications to these settings requires 2 reboots to take effect.
There are two allocation modes: AUTO and MANUAL. Any modifications to these settings require 2 reboots for the allocation to be applied.
AUTO
The systems allocates 75%of the available memory to the JVM. A RAM Disk is created according to the table below if there is enough memory to do so. The leftover memory is used by the OS. Memory size is in GB:
MANUAL
The first 4GB of memory is allocated to the OS. The max JVM memory is allocated to the JVM and the remainder is reserved for the RAM Disk.
For example, if the total memory is 40 and the Max JVM memory is set to 20, then the allocation is as follows:
JVM: 20GB, RAM DISK: 6GB, OS: 4GB
